Professors Hans Degens and Neil reeves organised the start-up corse and methodological workshops at MMU in February 2016. As illustrated here Move-age fellows experienced first hand how fear of falling may affect motor control. An enthusiastically received social event was the visit to the Man U stadium.
This year’s annual conference was held in Manchester at MMU. With 19 excellent presentations by the move-age fellows and a keynote lecture by professor Neil Pendleton on Frailty, this meeting was highly successful. The award for best presentation was given to Nathalie van Beek and runner up was Masood Mazaheri.
This message is long overdue, but still very much worth to be celebrated: the first two MOVE-AGE joint degrees were awarded by VU University Amsterdam and KU Leuven to Diana Sanchez-Ramirez and Edurado Cofré Lizama. The photos show Diana celebrating with the other MOVE-AGE fellows and Eduardo before it was time to celebrate.

The meeting was closed by a lecture on (post-doc) career development by Dr. Lucia Smit. The photograph shows the attendants just before the conference dinner on Tuesday.
MOVE-AGE startup course
The move-age start-up course was held in Amsterdam from April 8th till April 12th. This was the first opportunity for the move-age fellows of the second edition to get together. The week was filled with many lectures and several social events and was highly appreciated by the fellows. The picture shows part of the fellows and coordinator Sjoukje Colenbrander on a canal trip on Monday.
