Annual conference 2017

The annual conference took place in Manchester this year. Sauvik Das Gupta won the award for best presentation, but we enjoyed excellent presentations by all PhD students and a fascinating keynote by Dr. Aphrodite Vasilaki on the role of reactive oxygen species in neuromuscular ageing.

start-up course and methodological workshops

Professors Hans Degens and Neil reeves organised the start-up corse and methodological workshops at MMU in February 2016. As illustrated here Move-age fellows experienced first hand how fear of falling may affect motor control. This year’s annual conference was held in Manchester at MMU. With 19 excellent presentations by the move-age fellows and a keynote lecture by professor Neil Pendleton on Frailty, this meeting was highly successful. The award for best presentation was given to Nathalie van Beek and runner up was Masood Mazaheri.20150911_124628

First joint degrees awarded

This message is long overdue, but still very much worth to be celebrated:  the first two MOVE-AGE joint degrees were awarded by VU University Amsterdam and KU Leuven to Diana Sanchez-Ramirez and Edurado Cofré Lizama. Projects for the 2015 edition selected

The projects for the fellowships to start in 2015 have been selected. Summaries of the selected projects can found under Projects to start in 2015. It is only possible to apply by using the online application form.

Deadline postponed to 22 January 2014

It has been decided to postponed the deadline for the 2014 applications to 22 January.

Start-up course autumn 2013

The start-up course will be organized from 11-15 November at VU University Amsterdam. This course is a broad introductory course on the issue of mobility during ageing intended for the the third group of fellows who have been awarded a scholarship within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate program.

Application procedure fellowships 2014 opened

The application form for the PhD fellowships has been opened. Applications can be submitted up to January 15th 2014 by filling in the form and uploading the requested documentation. The following links provide more information on general criteria, specific criteria and the project cycles.

second MOVE-AGE conference

The second MOVE-AGE annual conference was held in Leuven from July 1st – July 3rd. After a keynote lecture by prof. Chris Todd, all PhD students presented their plans and progress. The meeting was closed by a lecture on (post-doc) career development by Dr. Lucia Smit. The photograph shows the attendants just before the conference dinner on Tuesday.
